Do I need reservations?

You do not need reservations for our half day fluke trips and our night summer trips. It is suggested that you arrive at least a half hour before a trip

Can I rent a rod and reel set-up on board?

Yes, rod and reel rental are available for $5 and it comes equipped with hook and sinker.

Do I need a salt water fishing licenses?

No, the boat license covers everyone on board.

Will the mates instruct us on fishing methods?

Yes, the mates on the Gambler are excellent and don't mind showing you as often as you need until you get the hang of it.

What will I need to bring?

The only thing you really need to bring is adequate clothing --sometimes it is cooler on the water than on land. Dress in layers --you can always take a layer off if it gets warm. Be prepared to take pictures with your camera or phone. You may bring a lunch with you in a cooler or buy food from our galley.

What about sea sickness?

If you are unsure your sea legs, you can take Dramamine an hour before the trip but it does make some people sleepy. The motion-sickness-bands that you wear on your wrists seems to be very effective for most and there is no drug involved --just pressure points. Also, go easy on alcoholic beverages the night before your trip and avoid a greasy breakfast.
